After an incredible 3 months camping and visiting family in Europe with my partner and two boys, we came back to reality and to be honest, over a month later and I’m still getting used to being back.

I was straight into weddings, and had five in September, starting with Thomas and Hannah’s intimate first wedding on Rottnest Island with their nearest and dearest. A second wedding was held in China two weeks later, lucky things!

Rottnest is the most beautiful place. Sometimes it feels so wild and remote, even though it’s so close to Perth. I love that it’s kept this wildness and old feel through the years. It’s like your childhood is just always there across the ocean waiting for you to come back for a while and reminisce. It can also be quite a sad and eerie place, knowing the history of it now, but I like to think we’re healing the errors of the past. Celebrating love on Little Parakeet Bay, everything felt peaceful and beautiful.

Special shout out to the fantastic Geordie Bay Cafe that catered the reception and Rottnest Island Events who coordinated. I got to taste the awesome tapas style morsels that came out in rounds to the Basin and wowsers, such incredible food! Thanks to Poppy’s Flowers for beautiful floral arrangements and Hannah’s stunning dress was from Brides of Brunswick.

I wish you every happiness Thomas and Hannah. I thoroughly enjoyed our little exploration of Rotto!
